this dude I knew from highschool called me on wednesday. he said
"where do you live again?
is it close to Oregon City? I'm in Oregon City."
"what are you doing in Oregon City?"
"I'm in a foundry.
They have one of our robots, but it isn't working.
I'm making it work.
I'm only supposed to fix the electronics, but no
one's here who can do the mechanical stuff.
Me with a wrench is a scary, scary thing."
"I thought you were in China- How are you in Oregon?"
"That was two weeks ago. When these things break,
people start yelling
'this costs us $100,000 per hour!
Get someone out here to fix it!
and the boss says
'Jason will be there on Monday,
you'll have to wait
that long at least.'
I'll be in China again on Monday,
and I'll be back in Oregon in May,
and in France sometime too."
We had some beer and sat around,
I offered to show him around the town
but he just wanted to hit rabbits
on the Wii.

I had a meeting, I waved at Beff
My bike got stolen, Vonnegut died,
Genesis Juice disappeared,
Vita Cafe caught on fire,
the Red & Black can't pay their rent,
I gave up and went back to bed.

asking Qous as an advisor
"you should get this new euro"
wait is this the same one so much cheaper?
"shit- buy it before i do"

sleeping until it's not morning
tiny's cafe:
can time flow both ways?
is chaos secretly just history?

it's nice outside, let's go dancing
the prettygirls don't make good partners
spinning until dizzy, sweaty
the caller doesn't know what she's saying

waiting waiting
everyone cranky
blaring music
macaroni

breakfast at a house with a clean kitchen
biking fast no destination
windows, faces
grass and sunlight

"are you ok?"
well, I'm alive
"games at your house?"

That was *your* bike? Now I feel guiltier. (Did inspire us to push the property manager for more indoor bike storage...)

well, I did have a rather crappy lock on it. but I used to park it downtown all the time with no trouble. It's kind of hard to gauge the effectiveness of bike locks: they work until they fail, and they only have to fail once.

I wouldn't have even thought to look for indoor storage.

Not your fault. One thing you guys could maybe do, though, is put a big sign on the door saying that there is indoor bike storage for CubeSpace. I had my bike outside that day, too.

That's a great idea, and I am so on it (making the sign, that is).

Rock! Thanks.

(Wow. I mention something I'd like to have in a random LiveJournal comment, and boom, it's done. Now that's service.)

I got a new bike the very next day.

I was using a kryptonite-brand cable-lock. I still have it, it's in two pieces.

Kryptonite does not offer an anti-theft protection plan for our cable locks.
